The Masters in Contemporary History, while offering advanced teaching in contemporary history, is also geared towards creating contemporary historians able to make research either their main sphere of work (in universities, research centres or institutes), or a complementary one (as an extension of their archiving, library, or museum work).

The objective of the programme is to create a school of contemporary historians, who will possess the knowledge and techniques necessary for investigative work into history, either as professional historians, or within other fields such as journalism, museum work, cultural activities coordinating, teaching, publishing, and political and social analysis.

Candidates will be recruited based on the following criteria: * Previous studies, a degree in History being preferred. * Academic records, for those having completed their degrees in the last five years. * Research experience. * Professional Experience * Papers published. * Academic stays abroad, language skills, and research grants and scholarships.
