USC's fully licensed Master of Counselling Program provides a holistic integrated and evidence-based pathway to becoming a"registered counsellor". This plan will cause you to the purchase of high level skillsand theoretical understanding and clinical experience through class room activities, blended education and internship placements. The program specialises in advanced counselling skills and concepts, counselling and mental health, counselling and dependence, counselling children and teenagers, mindfulness established interventions, expressive treatments and solution focussed brief therapy. You will learn the art of appraisal and case conceptualization and assemble a strong ethical framework for your practice. You'll have the opportunity to experience a fully supervised internship at the USC Counselling Clinic, within the Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience - Thompson Institute at Birtinya, in addition to learn to conduct research in collaboration with the Institute and lots of local community agencies. Supervised internships of 200 hours each semester of one's final year, happen in a variety of counselling settings. This practical training prepares you for a rewarding career being a counsellor and eligibility to join with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), along with listing as a"Registered counsellor" in the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ARCAP).

This Application is fully Licensed by the Australian Counselling Association and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. Candidates will be eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Assistants licensed by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) along with also the Queensland Counsellors Association.

  • 3-year degree in counseling or related field like nursing, nursing, or different individual services/health related field
  • Or extensive relevant industry experience
  • Prior to entry in to the path applicants will be required to submit their current Blue Card.
