Build industry experience through internships at publishing houses and festivals or spend a year online editorial team of Deakin's own global writing and creative arts diary, Verandah, honing your writing and composing skills along with aspiring professional creatives like you.Under the guidance of teachers who are published writers themselves, you are going to explore various genres of writing, including short and protracted fiction, creative nonfiction, digital perspectives, poetry and poetry writing.Collaborate and enhance your skills dealing together with peers in interdisciplinary teams such as writing, film, play and new technologies. You're going to be supported to identify and pursue opportunities for both editing and writing in brand new websites, cross-genre experimentation and creative production by having a knowledge of entrepreneurial motivation and knowhow. Focus with studio endeavors to grow and expand your style and craft and tackle creative search work, producing professional-standard publications for web and print before you grad. We also encourage one to pursue opportunities for both editing and writing in social networking, including to our own global writing journal, Verandah.
