Degree Programme in Sport Development and Management (90 ECTS) is a master's program offered completely in English. It leads to an internationally recognized degree Master of Sports Studies. Completing the program takes about two years of part-time studies. In general, the studies consist of contact sessions and distance learning.

The program aims at improving the students skills and competences in demanding sport management positions that develop their work and organization. Furthermore, it offers a modern international way of education based on latest scientific research and development work, as well as means for international networking over public, private, and third sectors.

The goal of the program is to develop the students international skills and competences through a variety of sport management courses, modern means of education, international seminars, and the students own work development projects (including the Masters thesis). The main subjects of the program are sport management, marketing, media, innovations, and financing.

Professional Growth
Upon graduation you will posses an internationally recognized degree called Master of Sport Studies that is a Masters degree awarded by HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences.

The studies include Common studies (10 ECTS), In-depth studies (40 ECTS), Optional studies (10 ECTS) and Thesis (30 ECTS). During Common studies the main items are personal skills and competences as well as sport business intelligence. In-depth studies include studies in sport finance, management, marketing, communication and media management.

As Optional studies HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences offers the students a possibility during the third semester to participate in an international sport management seminar organised in connection with an annual EASM (European Association for Sport Management) Conference. For example in 2014 the conference will be organised in Coventry, UK and in 2015 in Dublin, Ireland. The Thesis is a development project usually connected normally closely with the organisations where the students are working.

A Bachelors (or a higher) degree in the field of business, sport studies, sport sciences or sport management and three years working experience in the field of sport management or development area after the degree.
