The skills taught and developed are vital in today's modern entrepreneurial and knowledge-based economy. They enable you to operate effectively at a high level of executive responsibility in design, creative and digital media technology businesses. This course has a collaborative link with the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the leading Russian technical university, which offers opportunities for innovative research projects.

Semester one (September to January - 60 credits)

* Research Methodology for Design Entrepreneurs (15 credits)
* Marketing for the Creative Entrepreneur (15 credits)
* Critical Perspectives in Design Management (15 credits)
* Strategic Design for Competitive Advantage (15 credits)

Semester two (February to May - 60 credits)

You will complete three core modules and choose one elective from a choice of three:

* Business Planning for the Creative Entrepreneur (15 credits)
* Strategic Markets for Design in the Global Economy (15 credits)
* Design as a Strategic Business Tool (15 credits)

Choose one module from the following:

* Design in Political Context (15 credits)
* Managing Business Web Presence (15 credits)
* The Nature of Creativity (15 credits)

Semester three (June to September - 60 credits)

There are three options for the Major Project:

* Dissertation (60 credits)
* Dissertation and Creative Design Concept Portfolio (60 credits)
* Dissertation and Developed Creative Design Concept Portfolio (60 credits)

Modules in semesters one and two are taught through seminars, lectures, team working, tutorials, the virtual learning environment and design workshops. You will engage in a major research project using appropriate research methods and analysis. The development, structure and preparation of your final dissertation or project will be supported by individual tutorials.

You should have a good Honours degree in a field appropriate to the area of study. Applicants with other professional qualifications and experience will also be considered.If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent when you start the course is essential. English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6 TOEFL paper-based test score : 550 TOEFL iBT® test: 80 IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa.
