The European Management (Double Degree) programme at the University of Tübingen offers students a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive expertise in international management within the context of the European economy. This interdisciplinary programme is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in core business disciplines such as economics, finance, marketing, and organizational management, while also emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural understanding and European integration. Throughout the programme, students engage with rigorous coursework, practical projects, and case studies that prepare them for leadership roles in a globalized business environment.

A key feature of the European Management (Double Degree) programme is its mobility component, enabling students to study at partner universities across Europe, in addition to their home institution in Tübingen. This international exposure enhances linguistic skills, intercultural communication, and adaptability, which are vital in today’s interconnected markets. The double degree aspect means that upon successful completion, students receive two recognized degrees: one from the University of Tübingen and another from the partner university, substantially increasing their employability and networking opportunities within the European business landscape.

The curriculum is designed to be flexible, allowing students to tailor their studies according to their career interests and academic preferences. Courses are often taught in English, ensuring that participants can fully immerse themselves in an international learning environment. Alongside academic coursework, students benefit from various seminars, workshops, and internships that foster practical skills and professional development. The programme also emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation—key themes shaping modern management practices in Europe.

Graduates of the European Management (Double Degree) programme are equipped to pursue careers in multinational corporations, consulting firms, international organizations, and entrepreneurial ventures across Europe and beyond. The programme’s strong network of alumni and partnerships with industry leaders further supports students' transition from academic to professional life. With its comprehensive approach, international focus, and double degree accreditation, this programme prepares students to become forward-thinking managers capable of navigating complex European and global markets.

Educational organisation

Designed as a two-year programme to be completed at the University of Tübingen and at one of the two partner universities, this integrated double degree programme endows students with the skills and capacities necessary to be prepared for an international career. Their studies provide them with a unique personal and professional skill set due to the fact that they have experienced student life in two countries, experienced two academic practices and deepened their understanding of two cultures.

Students are enrolled as full-time students at both universities and will be granted two Master's degrees: the Master of Science (Tübingen) plus the Laurea Magistrale (Pavia) or the Master Grande Ecole (Strasbourg).

The programme with the University of Pavia allows students to choose whether to start in Italy or in Germany. Students may also decide to write the final thesis in Pavia or in Tübingen, depending on their chosen specialisation.
This programme can also be completed on a PhD track.

Students enrolled in the programme with the EM Strasbourg Business School spend the first year in France and are required to do an internship that they may complete directly after the first or the second year of their studies. The second year of the programme is spent in Tübingen and includes the completion of a Master's thesis.

1) Cooperation with Università degli Studi di Pavia in Italy
Studying in Tübingen students choose two to three specialisations from a broad range of business specialisations. They take compulsory and elective courses depending on their specific specialisation, but may additionally aim at complementary specialisations in Economics, benefiting from a strong Economics scholarship at the Tübingen School of Business and Economics.

Studying in Pavia students can choose courses out of a number of business specialisations. Additionally, they may take sociology courses, benefiting from the school's specific focus.

Students may choose to either complete the Master's thesis at the partner university or at the University of Tübingen, depending on where they study during their first year of the MSc degree.

2) Cooperation with EM Strasbourg
The programme requires students to earn 60 ECTS at each institution, amounting to a total of 120 ECTS. Students start their programme at the EM Strasbourg in September and complete their first year of the Master's degree there. The second year of the programme is spent in Tübingen and includes the completion of a Master's thesis.
The EM Strasbourg requires students to complete an internship of 3.5 months in a location of their choice. Students can choose to do the internship either between their first and second year of studies or at the end of their studies at the University of Tübingen.
