High-level study program covering earth sciences’ issues and techniques and combining theory and practice:
•  field geology (mapping, 3D digital models, sedimentology, volcanology, petrology, tectonics), marine seismic exploration, research mini-projects and experimental
studies (mineralogy, geochemistry…), laboratory internships;
•  quantitative approach of physics and chemistry, including experimental and numerical modeling, applied to natural objects
The course benefit from the research conducted in the Laboratoire de géologie de Lyon, ranging from the deep Earth to quaternary climates including planets and
dinosaurs.
Students can start designing their own study project during the final year of their Bachelor’s degree. They join research laboratories and benefit from an individualized
supervision through tutoring.

Course: partly in English / Tutorials and exams: 100% in English (on request)
-  General 1 st  semester covering the various aspects of Earth Sciences
-  2 nd , 3 rd  semesters of specialization with a large range of options  
and a research internships in France or abroad
- 4 th  semester: a 6-month research internship in France or abroad

•  Examination of the student’s academic record by a recruitment commission
•  Selection criteria: quality of the candidate’s academic profile, motivation and personal project in line with the program content

Level of French required: B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages classification)
