This class prepares students to be specialist in the education and development of children from birth to eight years. Graduates are prepared to are qualified teachers in early childhood education and care surroundings as well as kindergarten. The class also prepares students to teaching in Prep to Year 3 at primary school across Australia and over seas.
This course meets professional instruction standards for the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, and Queensland College of Teachers, and pupils are eligible to apply for teacher registration. Graduates are also recognised as qualified early childhood teachers under the Australian Childrens Education & Care Quality Authority framework. Graduates trying to find employment in other areas of Australia and over seas may be required to meet more problems.
- Year 12 or equivalent
- Prerequisites: English, or Literature, or English and Literature, or English as an Additional Language (Components 4 and 3 , C), or equivalent
- And General Mathematics, or Mathematical Procedures, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 and 4, C), or Even equivalent
- And a Minumum of One of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Marine Science, Physics, or Mathematics (Components 3 and 4, C), or equivalent. Applicants must submit an announcement addressing suitability criteria.
