This class enables students to become proficient primary instructors, who have the ability to fulfill the demands of twenty first century learning. Students gain a certificate in primary education, with optional options leading to speech instruction, physical and health education, middle year's pedagogy, and/or indigenous education and sustainability. The class focuses on contemporary methods of learning and teaching. Themes promote literacy and numeracy, an appreciation of diversity, query and problem-based methods, a knowledge of 21st century schools, educated decisionmaking and reflective practice. Students study a discipline-specific program, research workers, basic education studies, and professional experience. Students undertake a minimum of 100 days supervised practicum in an assortment of educational settings including at least one setting that includes a focus on the use of information and communication technologies to promote learning.

The program is Licensed by the Victorian Institute of Teaching and the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). Through reciprocal agreements between enrollment authorities, graduates can teach nationally and overseas.

  • Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at the very least 25 in English besides EAL
  • Units 3 and 4: a study score of 20 in any Communication.
