This double degree prepares students to perform in a range of functions to employ technology to education or business enterprises. Teachers can function as secondary school teachers in two teaching fields, one being it and something being English, geography, mathematics or history. The compsci major allows students to solve complex problems or be an expert in portable computing, artificial intelligence, robotics or coding. The data systems major prepares students to operate together with people, data, business processes and technology to discover innovative solutions. Teachers can direct technology progress in education settings, as well as an educator, utilize innovative teaching strategies to improve outcomes for students. Professional experience offers the opportunity to get the job done in real educational and information technology settings, supervised by practising professionals in the specialty.

This class meets professional instruction standards for the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, and Queensland College of Teachers, and pupils are eligible to apply for teacher registration. Graduates trying to find employment in different parts of Australia and over seas may have to meet additional problems. Graduates from the dual level fulfill the requirements for admission to the Australian Computer Society.
