In CI’s Health Sciences program, you’ll combine coursework with service and experiential learning to gain valuable, hands-on exposure to the diverse settings, challenges, populations, trends and opportunities in healthcare.  Students take a set of core biology, chemistry, sociology and health-related courses, along with elective and interdisciplinary courses that complement their own interests.

In addition to a general B.S. in Health Sciences, you have the option to obtain an Emphasis in Gerontology or an Emphasis in Health Informatics. These emphases allow you to specialize in two vital and rapidly expanding areas of healthcare: caring for aging populations and using information systems to improve patient care.

The program culminates in a capstone service-learning internship with a community-based organization or public health organization, or supervised community-based research.

Your future

You’ll be well-prepared to tackle a variety of roles in the high-demand and fast-growing health services field, as well as graduate study in areas ranging from medical and dental school to public health, psychology, sociology, healthcare administration, public administration and social work.
