Tuition fees do not include:

  • text books and other learning materials: an additional cost in the region of £170 per academic course (three term) ;

Course Content

You will study the following modules:

English for Academic Purpose and Study Skills, including ICT

  • You will look at reading techniques and writing styles as well as developing your note taking and presentation skills. Additionally you will learn how to use dictionaries and other study aids.

Specialist Modules

  • Specialist modules selected from the various schools' portfolio of degree modules. Students will be guided on the choice of their specialist modules.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment in the Diploma programme is both informal and formal. Teachers will give you advice and feedback throughout your studies, which helps you meet the requirements for third-year entry to university. You will also be assessed via a combination of:

  • written assignments
  • reports
  • practical exercises
  • group and individual research projects
  • bibliographical services
  • oral and video presentations
  • problem solving exercises

Assessment will be based on the University's marking scale for undergraduate studies.

Audience

The International Diploma is suitable for international students who have completed A-levels or a recognised International Foundation programme, or who are already in the first year of a relevant undergraduate degree in their home country, but do not meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry to Glasgow Caledonian University.

This course is not available for UK or EU students.

Academic requirements:

A recognised Foundation or International Certificate of Higher Education programme, the first year of a relevant undergraduate degree programme or A-Level equivalent in a suitable range of subjects.

Five term: IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in writing, or equivalent score

Four term: IELTS 5.0 with a minimum of 4.5 in writing, or equivalent score
