This course provides recent graduates with training in current analytical techniques, scientific and transferable skills applicable for environmental chemistry research. Individual research topics (which make up a considerable part of the course) are all in the area of environmental chemistry.
Typical projects have included contaminated land/water clean-up, studies of marine anti- fouling agents and the effect of drought on nutrient cycling in soil. The lectures and teaching cover a broad range of topics. Coursework is assessed by formal examination, and the MSc is awarded following the examination of a dissertation.
