Film and TV production:
Film and television production is a key component of the bachelor program. You will gain television production expertise within single- and multi-camera productions (fiction, documentary, reportage, events). There is also a strong focus on directing related to these productions and some cinematography, post production and digital workflow. All this is provided through basic courses during the first year.
During the second year you can choose to focus more towards film production, script development and directing or select multi-camera production. Multi-camera production may include larger sports and event productions/concerts. The productions are distributed either live online, on the big screen or on-demand. The year ends with a selectable media production.

In the third year you will be introduced for infomercials that include commercials and music video productions. Before that you can choose between 3 electives. The whole Bachelor program ends with a bachelor production where students themselves set up and plan a larger production.

Project work and entrepreneurship:
The program has a strong focus on project work and teamwork. As a student, you will be linked to external clients from industry and must learn to handle problems both individually and in groups. We also work a lot with entrepreneurship: organizes entrepreneurial camp, and has a separate course where the focus is on production management. Several students choose to start their own student companies during their studies, and we have a structure to help you with this together with partners.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud

The financing of the Film and TV Production program at Nord University is structured through a combination of Norwegian governmental support, tuition fees, scholarships, and potential private funding opportunities. Norwegian students benefiting from the Norwegian national education policy often have access to public funding options such as student loans and grants provided by the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen). These financial aids are designed to support students throughout their study period, covering living expenses and, in some cases, tuition fees where applicable. Since the program is offered in Norway, international students from the European Union or EEA countries may also be eligible for similar financial assistance or scholarships aimed at promoting international education exchanges. The program’s fee structure can vary depending on the student's nationality; however, most Norwegian and EEA students pay minimal or no tuition fees due to the Norwegian government's policy of free higher education for residents and EEA nationals. For non-EEA international students, tuition fees are typically set per academic year and are comparable to other Nordic university programs, with some variations based on the level and scope of the program. In addition to public funding, the program may benefit from private sponsorships, industry partnerships, and grants from arts and media organizations that aim to promote film and TV arts. Students are also encouraged to seek external funding through relevant competitions, internships, and project grants, which can support specific production projects or research activities within the program. Nord University provides detailed guidance and resources to help students access these various sources of financial support. The combination of governmental support, institutional scholarships, industry partnerships, and external funding options ensures that students enrolled in the Film and TV Production program have a comprehensive financial framework conducive to their academic and professional development.
