The Bachelor's programme German Studies in Cultural Comparison offers a unique perspective on German studies by comparing German to other languages and cultures. The focus of the BA programme is either on linguistics or literature or a combination of the two, depending on future career goals. Theoretical training is supplemented by the more career-oriented areas of intercultural communication and didactics.
The study programme leads to a variety of career opportunities, for example as cultural mediators in cultural centres or international businesses or as teachers of German as a Foreign Language in Germany and abroad. The programme is specifically designed to meet the interests of students whose mother tongue is not German.
