The Master of Public Health (Extension) and Master of Health Management will allow one to specialise in both public health and health control and also to develop research skills in general health. This double degree will provide you high level disciplinary understanding and skills to try population health insurance and health services management roles in government, community and health service preferences from Australia and internationally. You will acquire a deep understanding of general health insurance and health control, including epidemiology, biostatistics, social determinants of health, health promotion, population-targeted wellness research methods, leadership and labor management. Additionally you will acquire specialised skills needed for health direction research and also evidence-based expert training and leadership across a range of contexts.
- An undergraduate degree in an area relevant to public health or health direction and 2 years full time professional or volunteer experience (this can also have equivalent professional experience acquired as a member of a diploma of 4 or 2 years duration)
- OR An undergraduate level and an honours or postgraduate level in an area relevant to general health or medical administration. For example, but aren't restricted to, medical, nursing, allied health, medical sciences, health sciences, dentistry, social work, sociology, social and social sciences, social work, psychology, marketing, human services, emergency services, environmental health, health care science, health administration, business, management, engineering, law, science, math and statistics, economics, and policy studies and development studies. Software will be assessed in accordance with the UNSW Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and Procedure.
