Course Content
Your first year curriculum will set the foundation for the study of politics and history and offer you the opportunity of learning about key events from both a historical and political perspective. Topics include The Rise of the Nation State in the Western World, From Empire to Welfare in Britain, Politics in Action and Introduction to Political Ideas.
The subjects that you will study in your second year examine a range of topics pertinent to both politics and history and will deepen and broaden your understanding of both disciplines. In addition, you will have the opportunity to specialise and select one optional module.
In your final year you will have the opportunity to choose from a range of specialised options and write a dissertation on a topic of your own choice.

Merit Scholarship SchemeMerit Scholarship scheme: £1,000, in year one only and based on academic performance.

- Scholarships are allocated on the basis of academic merit. (Postgraduate applicants must hold 2.1 or equivalent, undergraduate applicants must hold A-levels or equivalent at grades BBC)
