Logistics offers many career opportunities worldwide and it is the third largest sector of industry in Germany. It is a complex task that requires planning, organisation, practicality, and technical skills. Therefore, the study programme at FHWS combines subjects in the fields of IT, business administration, and technology.

Educational organisation
First to third semesters: basic courses, e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Operations Management, etc.Fourth to fifth semesters: advanced courses, e.g., Technical Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Purchasing, etc.
Sixth semester: internship
Seventh semester: Bachelor's thesis and Bachelor's seminar
Internships
Students who wish to enrol in a Bachelor's programme in Business and Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt must complete a six-week internship in a relevant field. This can be done before or during the first two study semesters.Additionally, the course structure includes an internship semester. The internship phase is scheduled for the sixth semester and comprises a total of 20 weeks.

Your Bachelor of Engineering qualification will open the door to a wide range of possible careers. Your future task will be to secure the competitiveness of the enterprise, for which you are working, by keeping inventory low, while also ensuring customer satisfaction by keeping delivery times short and ensuring the timely delivery of ordered stock. The entire process of planning, arranging, supervising, and checking the material, financial, and information flow within the enterprise as well as in the whole supply chain between suppliers and customers is organised by logistics managers. Graduates work in a variety of industries and sectors, including retail.Language requirements
- Evidence of knowledge of English, e.g., TOEFL test (min. 80 points internet-based) is recommended.
- Student must have knowledge of German at the A2 level (CEFR). There is an option to achieve this level by means of FHWS courses during the first two semesters.

To make your start in Germany as easy and enjoyable as possible, we offer an orientation programme. This one- or two-week programme is usually held prior to the start of the semester. The orientation programme provides you with all the essential information you need to study at FHWS. This includes, for example, a guided tour of the cities and of the university as well as handy tips for living in Germany. You will also meet other incoming students.In addition, we offer a Buddy System, which is an ongoing support programme for all new international students. The aim of the Buddy System is to help new students to establish a social and an academic network.
