The master International and European Law (IEL) deals with the interplay between national and European Union law - focusing on the manifold ways in which the laws emanating from the European Union and other European organizations are influencing the legal developments within national states. Conducted over one intensive year, this program offers students the opportunity to gain in-depth specialized knowledge. Related to these themes, two separate tracks have been formed, each with its own focus and study program: 1. The European Union Law track caters to students who want to specialize in the constitutional and economic foundations of the European integration process. The EU track explores the constitutional, institutional and economic foundations of EU law, preparing students for a wide range of careers. 2. The International Law and Human Rights track focusses on contemporary global challenges in the playing field of international law (ecological, food, health, education, pluralism, freedoms, etc.) and their consequences for peoples' lives. Small class sizes and interactive teaching methods ensure a high level of participation by students during the program.
