This Masters programme in international business addresses key issues such as how multinational firms decide where and when to invest internationally and how to evaluate the opportunities and challenges that face them in different countries.
You will examine the strategic choices multinational firms need to make to compete in an increasingly global economy, while simultaneously paying close attention to the development and policy challenges that the actions of multinational firms create in an interdependent world, both from a developing and developed country perspective.
This requires a holistic view of the international business environment, in terms of the competitiveness of firms and industries, which in turn is determined by the policies and regulations established by governments and supranational institutions.
You will utilise frameworks and methodologies to make sense of the interaction between firm strategies, economic and development policies and the changing global environment in a rapidly globalising world. You will gain an understanding of not only how firms are organised internally, but also analyse systematically how foreign markets and countries function. This means connecting the 'micro' firm view with the 'macro' view of countries and regions.
