The double degree (with Uppsala) focuses on financial consequences of international activities. Understand the different aspects of financial management in an international business environment.

These days internationally oriented firms and organizations do not merely need financial specialists who are acquainted with the latest tools and techniques. They are looking for professionals who can use these tools and techniques for managing information and business resources.

The programme is offered jointly by the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and Uppsala University in Sweden. The double degree programme consists of two one-year master programmes that you can effectively study two in three semesters (i.e. 18 months/90 EC).

The IFM programme is different from most other Master programmes in international finance because it focuses on managerial aspects of international finance. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the skills they will need to function as a financial manager in an internationally operating firm or organization. It will give students a thorough understanding of the different aspects of financial management in an international business environment, and aims at teaching them to think strategically and to explore how change can be initiated and managed.

Programme
* 1st year You take semester 1 in Groningen, with 30 EC in courses of the MSc in International Financial Management. The second semester, in Uppsala, you take 30 EC in advanced courses of the MSc in Business and Economics.


* 2nd year In the third semester you take electives from a list of selected courses and write your MSc thesis supervised by both universities, Groningen and Uppsala.

International studentsmatching procedureFor everyone involved a group of 30 students would be ideal. However, officially there is no maximum.To be eligible for admission to this Master, you need one of the following diplomas of the RUG: Business Economics, Business Administration, Economics and Business Economics, International Business, Technology Management.To assess whether your educational/academic background meets the specific programme requirements, we will consider the level and curriculum of your previous studies, and the grades that you have obtained.
