Nürtingen-Geislingen University is one of Baden-Württemberg's 22 universities of applied sciences, with a profile that allows it to stand alongside universities as an academic educational institution. It is characterised by hands-on teaching and application-oriented research. In addition to a Master's programme in landscape architecture, the university offers concentrated, practice-related courses in the fields of business administration, international financial management, agronomics, food chain management, economics, international management, landscape planning/architecture, town planning, and environmental studies. Nürtingen was once the home of the German lyric poet Hölderlin, and is located at the foot of the Swabian Alb highlands, not far from Stuttgart.
