Forms of assessment

The courses of the MBA International Management programme are arranged in a modular structure. The modules are in line with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). A successfully passed study programme comprises 90 ECTS credits (30 per semester).
Forms of assessment are written and oral examinations, case studies, papers, and presentations.

Course objectives

This accredited postgraduate Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme has two main objectives:
Graduates from an institution of higher education with a non-business background acquire fundamental knowledge in business administration, management, and economics. Furthermore, the programme provides the necessary knowledge and understanding of international economic relations, intercultural issues, and business language.
A good mix of professors and business practitioners hold lectures in German and English. During the Master's programme, students learn to analyse international business and management problems, enabling them to find sound solutions for effective operations and sustainable economic success.

Language requirements

Applicants must provide proof of their German and English skills.

German: TestDaF, DSH, or equivalent; minimum requirement according to the European Framework of Languages is a completed B2 level

English: one of the following:
  • TOEFL with at least 500 points (paper-based), 173 points (computer-based), or 61 points (Internet-based)
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE)
  • Cambridge Proficiency (CPE)
  • Business English Certificate Vantage Level (BEC Vantage)
  • IELTS (academic with no less than a 5.5 overall band)
  • APIEL (minimum 4)
  • First Certificate in English (FCE)
  • Internal English test at Nürtingen University

Academic requirements

Proof of a degree from a German institute of higher education or vocational college or a comparable degree from a foreign institute of higher education. Above-average examination results must have been obtained during the first degree course (an average grade of at least 2.5 on the German scale or equivalent). In the case of law degrees, a minimum of 6.5 points must have been attained.
The criteria of above-average examination results may also be met through relevant professional experience.
