The Masters programme in Law is developed to enable students to learn both, the general principles and philosophy of law in Europe as well as giving detailed knowledge and skills in specialization areas: these are European Union law, technology law, and international and comparative law.

The faculty Tallinn Law School (TLS) combines classroom, interactive teaching and e-courses together with great study and research library, and access to multiple juridical databases to make the studies interesting and efficient. Students have possibility to study abroad in top European universities, participate in international moot court competitions, research projects and different networks (e.g. European Law Faculties Association, International Association of Law Schools etc.).

Educational aims of the curriculum

* to give thorough knowledge in areas of law in the context of European legal culture, to explain the role of law as one of the tools for organising societal life,
* to teach to know and implement the general principles of law,
* to teach to use law as a tool for the protection of democratic values and human rights, to teach the importance of ethics in making decisions and practical professional skills in different areas of law,
* to develop the skills of logical argumentation, interpretation and analysis,
* to give the knowledge, skills and values, which form the specific education of legal scholars and the acquisition of which is a prerequisite for further studies in the Doctoral level,
* to assist in the implementation of lifelong learning,
* to give the necessary prerequisites for starting careers in positions, which require Master degree in Law (such as judge, sworn attorney, prosecutor, bailiff, notary, bankruptcy administrator, company lawyer, legal advisor, lecturer), and also in positions in which it is necessary to know well the global and local community and legal environment (for example government official, local government official, EU or international institution official, diplomatic officer).
