Studying with one of the largest Bachelor of Commerce programs in the country gives you some distinct advantages. You can focus your studies in a traditional field such as Accounting, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources. Or you can branch out into some of the unique and non-traditional majors such as Business Economics & Law, East Asian Studies, Entrepreneurship & Family Enterprise, Retailing & Services, and Management Information Systems. In the classroom, you can expect to find professors who challenge you to put ideas to work. Team and project work is a strong component of all of our classes, with our professors often playing a role as coach, mentor, moderator and information resource. The Marketing Major at the Alberta School of Business builds on its world class faculty research in consumer behaviour, online decision making, market research, marketing models and retailing to teach students to engage in sophisticated marketing practice. The program balances teaching of research based principles with innovative teaching methods. It builds practical skills in consumer and market analysis, managerial decision-making, and implementing marketing programs. Marketing courses use lectures, discussions, managerial cases, market simulations, and group projects that apply principles to real organizational situations.
