Public Policy at Sciences Po is a comprehensive and multidisciplinary programme designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and analytical tools necessary to understand and influence the complex landscape of public decision-making and policy development. By combining rigorous academic coursework, practical internships, and engaging with real-world issues, the programme prepares students for careers in government, international organizations, think tanks, NGOs, and the private sector. The curriculum covers core topics such as political science, economics, law, and administration, while also emphasizing policy analysis, public management, governance, and ethics. Students have opportunities to specialize in areas like European policy, development, environmental policy, security, or social affairs, tailoring their education to their career ambitions. The programme encourages critical thinking, quantitative and qualitative research skills, and effective communication to foster well-rounded professionals capable of tackling pressing societal challenges. With a diverse international student body and faculty, students benefit from a global perspective on policy issues and develop a network of contacts across sectors and countries. The programme is designed to be flexible, allowing students to participate in double-degree options, internships, and field projects. Ultimately, Public Policy at Sciences Po aims to develop leaders committed to public service, equipped to analyze, formulate, and implement policies that promote sustainable and inclusive development worldwide.

To equip our students with a multidimensional and panoramic vision of public affairs, the curriculum is built around a thorough core curriculum in public economics, public policy, law and regulation, management, ethics and digital.

The School also offers a broad range of policy streams in public affairs, taught in French or in English, completed by elective courses that examine current policy debates with insight from academics and practitioners, and opportunities offered by the Policy Lab (case studies, simulations, Civic Tech) to bridge the gap between theory and practice, decision and action.

During the fourth semester, students choose between undertaking an internship, studying at a partner university, writing a master thesis or doing an individual project, depending on their professional project.

For upcoming applicants to the Master's degree: the Policy Stream curricula available on the website correspond to the first and second semesters for first year Master's students in the 2018 - 2019 cohort. The curricula for the third and fourth semesters on the website correspond to the academic program for second year Master's students in the 2017-2019 cohort. The possible differences in the academic requirements and courses offered are the result of modifications in the academic curriculum that took place over the last two years.
