The programme gives students a holistic understanding of a supply chain. Based on quality and price targets of the customers and financial demand of the company we discuss how to manage international supply chains, how to meet the quality demands of the customer and how to make production more efficient. In this context, we introduce you to the concept of lean production and explain the chances production 4.0 can offer. We discuss the concept of M2M-solutions, success factors of M2M solutions and show you the correlation between the analysis of unstructured data and production 4.0.

The theoretical phase comprises the following modules:

Trends in supply chain management

During the practical phase, students conduct an internship and write their Master's thesis.

Educational organisation

The programme lasts four semesters. The first two semesters provide practice-oriented education (e.g. case studies, working in labs, excursions, and expert meetings).
The third and fourth semesters are spent working as an intern in a production facility or SCM department to gain more practical experience. They also include one week-long module each.
The Master's thesis, which has to be done in cooperation with a company, is written during the fourth semester.

Course objectives

Graduates of the programme will be qualified to work as a manager in an overseas branch of a German company or a German branch of a foreign company in the areas of production, production planning or supply chain management.

Language requirements

Applicants must be proficient in English: TOEFL 90 (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS 6.5 (International English Language Testing System).

Academic requirements

Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited university in Commerce, Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a similar subject

About 100 EUR per semester. The fee includes a semester ticket covering public transport within the city of Hof.

Job opportunities

The programme includes a mandatory internship. Salaries are usually between 600 and 1,000 EUR per month.

Pick-up service from Hof train station, orientation weeks for international students at the beginning of each semester, assistance in finding accommodation

The Housing Office supports international students in finding appropriate accommodation in Hof or Münchberg.

Rent for a single room in a student residence is approximately 250 EUR plus additional costs for electricity. Rent for a private one-room apartment is approx. 300-400 EUR plus additional costs for water, heating, and electricity.
