Base of organizations
Operations form the base of every organization, whether in manufacturing, service or non-profit industries. Operations Management & Logistics is a multidisciplinary field that comprises disciplines such as product development, quality management, logistics, information systems and human resource management. Operations extend from the performance management of a group of design engineers or building in quality-feedback loops to the precise prediction of production and delivery performance. Supply chain management and the design of information architectures for e-business are also part of operations management.

The Masters degree program provides theory, tools and techniques for the management of operations. You will apply the knowledge that you gain during the program in the various projects, in which you will learn what it means to carry out your own research. You will learn how to analyze the current operational performance of an organization, how to explain it in terms of quality, cost and time, and how to improve this performance by redesigning business processes.

Career oppertunities
As a graduate of this Masters degree program you will be well prepared for a broad range of positions and careers. Examples are: supplier relations manager, quality manager in a production or service company, manager in a hospital or other care institution, consultant in business management or information systems, business analyst and performance manager. Starting your own company or taking a career in research are also among the options.

Business positions include jobs such as:

* supply chain engineer at multinational companies such as Dow Chemical, Nike, or Unilever
* product development manager at high-tech companies such as Philips, Océ, Hewlett-Packard
