The Erasmus Mundus Master program in Pervasive Computing and Communications for Sustainable Development (PERCCOM) aims at combining advanced Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) with environmental awareness to enable world-class education and unique competences for ICT professionals who can build cleaner, greener, more resource and energy efficient cyber-physical systems.

The Master Program is jointly developped and organized by four high quality universities. During the four semesters the students move as a single cohort. They start their first semester at University of Lorraine (France). The second semester, the cohort is at Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland), and the third one at Luleå University of Technology (Sweden).

The last semester is dedicated to a thesis component and can be undertaken during the training period either in a private company or in one of the laboratories/departments of the different Universities involved in the Master Program.

The associated partners give lectures in seminars. One seminar is located at St. Petersburg University of IT Mechanics and Optics (Russia). The consortium will form support network to enable efficient interactions between students, and partners. Regular events will be held to advance the program objectives.

In PERCCOM program, a Master thesis topic area is allocated to each student in semester 1. The list of Master theses topics will be presented on the PERCCOM website at the beginning of the semester 1. The students will have time to consult all the proposals. A virtual market place of potential Master thesis projects will be held during semester 1 where students who have the opportunity to discuss possible projects with consortium partners. Each hosting University during semesters 1-3 gives a course dedicated to preparation of a Master Thesis and teaches how to write reports, make oral presentations, manage a project.

At the end of every academic year, a hosting University will organize a virtual a PERCCOM conference where Master theses projects are presented. All graduating and semester 2 students as well as PERCCOM consortium partners will be invited to participate. The organization of the PERCCOM conference will be as follows: Two days are reserved for Master thesis project dissertations presentation. And one day is dedicated to professional talks by industry partners.

Seminars:The Associated partners and Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics can propose courses in the context of seminars. Globally, a cohort will follow five courses during these seminars. (The courses will be held in the hosting universities, not in the university which proposes the course). These courses deliver credits: 3 ECTS by course of 20h. The interest of these courses is the students meet other teachers coming from other universities and having complementary experiences and skills in Green ICT domain.
