This program is designed to improve the knowledge and practice skills of instruction, nursing, allied health and social care professionals to utilize children and adolescents, through the therapeutic use of play. Students will obtain understanding of the various impacts upon the health of children and the selection of ways children respond to major life events and transitions. Throughout the course students will concentrate on the part of play in the lives of children, how it's influenced by developmental events and how play could also be used to get into understanding, emotions and healing. Students will acquire the information and skills necessary to operate effectively with children, and how to get into their understanding to the extent consistent with maturity, age and circumstances.
Completion of This Class will enable People to apply for membership of This Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association.
- Successful completion of a recognised Bachelor degree or equivalent at the fields of education, medicine, nursing, allied health, psychology or social work. All applicants have to be registered with the relevant body within the area of these completed degree
- Criminal History Check: Students must have cleared a Police Check or Working Together With Children Check before they can tackle a few of the duties.
