This program responds to legislative changes that allow podiatrists to work with a range of drugs to deal with podiatric problems. It is the only class in Australia to incorporate the theoretical and event simulation components, plus some of the supervised practice component, demanded by the Podiatry Board of Australia for endorsement in using scheduled medicines for the treatment of podiatric problems. The program is supplementary to overall or pro registration as a podiatrist.
The Accreditation Certification of Podiatric Therapeutics was approved by the Australian and New Zealand Podiatry Accreditation Council as providing a qualification in podiatric therapeutics (Section A) for the goal of an endorsement to get scheduled medicines from the podiatry profession.
- A completed recognised 4-year Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) at podiatry
- Applicants must have current registration with the Podiatry Board of Both Australia
