Spanish Language Studies and Latin American Studies

The Master??s programme aims to offer international students, primarily from developing countries and Eastern Europe, a second degree in Latin American Studies.

The prime objective of the programme is to educate specialists in the various fields (language, literature, culture and society) relating to the countries in the region concerned. The emphasis of the programme is on the humanities, but students will also be able to pursue studies in fields related to social sciences.

Programme content: The Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language Studies at the University of Bergen offers students a comprehensive understanding of the Spanish language, literature, and culture. A first degree (bachelor's degree) of three or four years duration from an approved institution of higher education, as well as proficiency in the Spanish and English languages. Such a specialisation should correspond to at least three semesters of full-time study. You should also present a statement of purpose for an eventual master's thesis.
