Educational organisation

The Bachelor's programme "International Tourism Management / Health & Medical Tourism" comprises six theoretical semesters, one practical semester, and ends with the Bachelor's thesis. The Bachelor's thesis can be written in German or in English.
For all courses, ECTS credit points (European Credit Transfer System) are awarded.
After having successfully completed the programme and the Bachelor's thesis, students will be awarded the academic degree Bachelor of Arts (BA).

Study abroad unit(s)

Students have the opportunity to spend one or more semesters abroad at a partner university (Erasmus exchange programme).

Internships

An internship of 18 weeks is to be completed between the fifth and seventh semester.

Course objectives

The graduates gain broad expertise through theoretical and practical teaching in the specifics of business and tourism, key skills, implementation competence, and innovation ability. Additionally, they acquire social and international skills, enabling them to competently manage the complex, cross-cultural environment of the tourism sector, particularly in health and medical tourism. In light of the increasing multicultural globalisation of the tourism industry, great importance is placed on the development of students' language skills.

Language requirements

International applicants do not have to provide proof of German knowledge.
However, the German level A2 has to be reached by the end of the programme.
TestDaF can be completed at our university.
International applicants also must provide proof of their English skills at the beginning of the first semester: level C1 (TOEFL iBT score 64, TOEIC at least 75% of maximum points, Cambridge Certificate FCE, CAE or CPE).
