The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise saw the Bristol Department of Finance and Accounting rated fourth in its Unit of Assessment. The result is a true reflection of the high research quality within the Department. Research in the Department spans a number of areas, primarily in finance, management accounting and public sector accounting.

Research Groups The main research themes reflect the interests of staff members. The particular strengths of the Department lie in applied financial econometrics (Evarist Stoja), auditing (Yingfa Lu), empirical finance (Daniella Acker, George Bulkley, Sylvain Friederich, Paula Hill, Piotr Korczak, Neslihan Ozkan), financial reporting (Mike Jones), management accounting (Stephen Lyne), and public sector accounting (Sheila Ellwood).

Requirements

An upper second-class honours degree in a related subject (or equivalent qualification), and/or a Masters qualification in a related subject.

English Language Requirements

IELTS band: 6.5

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa.
