Examine the many influences that psychological, social, biological, and economic factors have on development, capabilities, health, and relationships throughout an adultпПХs lifespan. In this major, you will focus on health from young adulthood to the elder years, you will learn and apply knowledge to promote individual and family well-being. You will become familiar with current research and theory in adult development and aging, family and social relationships, human sexuality, social policy, and community services. Field placements and community service-learning opportunities will allow you to gain knowledge, skills, and values that prepare you to work effectively with adult individuals and groups in a variety of settings. Students choosing the Co-op program will complete their degree in five years.Sample careers include health promotion consultant, government policy developer, community services planner, life enrichment, activity or education coordinator, mental health worker, couple and family therapist, and sexual health counsellor.
