There is an increasing demand for aerospace engineering graduates both in the UK and overseas. In fact, the UK aerospace industry is second in size to that of the USA and is home to some of the worlds largest and leading aerospace companies such as Airbus, Astrium, BAE Systems, GKN and Rolls-Royce.

The aim of this degree is to provide a bridge to become an aerospace engineer to anyone with a first degree in another engineering discipline or equivalent. It provides all of the essential knowledge and skills that an aerospace engineer needs to succeed in their career.

You will study taught modules comprising of core modules in fluid dynamics and structural mechanics along with optional, more specialist modules such as design optimisation, rotary wing aircraft and aircraft systems and propulsion.
In addition to the taught modules you will undertake an aerospace related professional project which is chosen by you and undertaken in association
with one of the Schools world-class research groups. Throughout your project you will be supervised by a member of academic staff.
Our Aerospace Engineering Industrial Advisory Board is actively engaged in ensuring this course meets the needs of industry and reflects trends in the sector. They also provide industrial talks and seminars and provide advice and support to our students during their professional projects.

Compulsory modules

* Aerospace Structures
* Incompressible Flow
* Professional Project
