The first graduation of the students of architecture took place in the spring term of the 2009-2010 academic year. This masters programme was initiated in the following term of education and has been continuing ever since. All of the present students for this degree are in the stage of taking lessons.
Yasar University, in order to encourage this programme, is providing scholorships of 25, 50, 75 and 100 % of the annual education fee. Those who apply for scholorships are chosen on the basis of a calculation. This is made by a certain formulation of the points students obtain from ALES (a Turkish governmental exam which is not demanded from foreigners), avarage undergraduate graduation grade, point earned in a foreign language exam and a professional exam conducted by the department.
Applicants should hold an english exam grade, determined by Yasar Üniversity (ÜDS=80 for Turkish people) or must have graduated from a university where teaching is made in english. Results of IELTS, TOEFL and similar internationally valid exams are also acceptable. ALES exam grade must not be under 55/100 and the lowest undergraduate avarage not below 2.5/4.0.
During the preparation of a thesis students are encouraged to choose a topic related to sustainability an area in which the department wishes to develop expertise and to make this choice on a unique aspect of architecture.
