The skills developed within the Finance option reflect those demanded in the financial services industry. This option is specifically designed to provide students with training in the four major branches of finance (corporate finance, investment management, money and banking, and international finance); numeracy and analytical skills necessary for asset pricing; computer skills in financial modeling, accounting, and database management; analysis of financial statements; and personal taxation and issue identification. The UFV School of Business has co-op (short for: co-operative education) options for students who are interested in developing a competitive edge for after graduation. Students have the opportunity to work in a four, eight, or twelve months work term, full-time or part-time, and can declare co-op as an option on their transcript. For those who want to make connections in the industry, get hands on experience in their future job field, and who want more than just a degree, the School of Business and the Career Centre can help you get there.
