Counselling Social Work

This program was created for social workers who are working in the area. If students are interested in continuing their education within social work, this post graduate program has been shaped to develop their current experience, and combine and extend their understanding and skills in counselling training. Students will have the opportunity to engage in in-depth investigation of their own social work training and be encouraged to add significance to interactive theory seminars. Adopting a relational method of counselling, students may explore systemic family therapy, solution and narrative focused remedies. The post graduate courses in counselling and social work also explores key aspects of other procedures such like: psychodynamic; psychotherapy; cognitive behaviour therapy; injury based procedures; couple of therapy. Students will be given an opportunity to produce their clinical knowledge and create an appreciation of their research process.

An undergraduate degree and qualification for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), meeting professional institution requirements including professional development and supervision. 2 decades of specialised counselling clinic experience ensuring that students in this system are already proficient clinicians. Current employment in a organisational context where prospective students can give counseling, case management or other guide clinic interventions with clients. This is in contrast to social workers who might have worked primarily in administrative or management roles. Admission is subject to quota. Software must include a brief cv and the names and contact details of at least two professional referees.
