The focus area of the profile is Accounting & Finance. Students on this profile will have greater knowledge within the key financial issues within firms through the courses: Advanced Corporate Finance and Derivatives, Foundation of Management, Asset Pricing with Fixed Income or Dynamic Investment Strategies.
Furthermore, the student will gain knowledge about and skills in using methods and tools which can support the competencies to develop and solve advanced financial models. The student will gain substantial insights about the function of financial markets, instruments and policies and the methods and models to evaluate these.
Finally, the student will gain competences as regards to formulate and solve advanced models in finance and manage the firms financial functions e.g. when acting as a CFO. Implement financial models to support management decisions in all type of organizations. The master can independently analyze and make decision as to solve specific financial management decisions.

Skills
The graduate can, in a qualified manner, select and apply scientific methods and theories for collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data for description and complex analysis of internal and external conditions of the firm as well as theoretical issues related to these areas. The graduate can set up new models of analysis and solutions for problems based on the performed analyses. The graduate can communicate his/her knowledge and discuss professional and scientific issues with colleagues, management, and the surrounding society.
Competences
A MSc in Economics and Business Administration can, within the area of the profile, manage work and development situations that are complex, unpredictable and require new models for solutions. The board of the University of Southern Denmark decides from year to year which study programmes will benefit from the scholarships and the University will recommend the most qualified applicants in these programmes for a scholarship. Therefore it is not possible to apply for this scholarship. If you are a non-EU student and applying for a programme which offers this scholarship you will automatically be considered for it.
BHJ Scholarship
Only available for students applying for a master programme at our Sønderborg Campus
Six one-year scholarships are issued pr. year: three for studies within the technical field i.e. Mechatronics and Innovation & Business respectively, and three are for studies within the field of business administration i.e. Business Relationship Management.
A scholarship of DKK 40.000 may be granted if and when the requirements are met. It is paid in two instalments of DKK 20.000 per semester. The scholarship grant depends on acceptance and enrolment as a full-time student in one of the above mentioned programmes.
