Course Content

Course Aims

The study of economics provides a rigorous analytical framework for understanding the workings of the economy. This course integrates theories, data and models to analyse economic issues. Graduates of this course possess in-depth knowledge on real-world problems not only affecting individual household and business, but also the national government and international organisations. This course offers core units that introduce students to the key principles of economics. These units are essential to the understanding of the microeconomic decisions of individual household and business and the macroeconomic policy of the government. Students will complete a major in applied economics, economics, economic development, or environmental analysis and policy. It is possible to form a second major from your elective units.

This course provides a broad and flexible educational preparation for a range of professional, business-related careers in private and public enterprises. The range of career options depends on the major chosen, but given we offer a number of majors, students will be able to explore several career paths.
