An environmental studies degree equips students with valuable knowledge of complex issues such as species habitat; the remediation of a polluted site; renewable and non-renewable resources; ecological conservation and restoration projects; spatial and statistical analysis; air quality; global warming; and environmental toxicology. Students will gain practical environmental experience working in the Ecosystem Study Area on TWUпПХs Langley campus or at the CrowпПХs Nest Ecological Research Area on Salt Spring Island. Because significant environmental debates are often rooted in values and beliefs, this multidisciplinary major incorporates courses from both social and natural sciences. The program prepares the environmental professional by building a solid core of scientific subjects based on an ethical foundation.
