The MSc Finance and Development programme aims to provide you with a rigorous and challenging postgraduate education experience leading to the award of a Masters degree. * Apply the latest thinking on finance and development to the analysis of the key problems being experienced characterising financial development

The programme reflects the University's commitment to active education and involves you in a challenging and participative range of learning processes from day one. With a busy induction week involving you in meeting with the staff team and your fellow students, exploring the learning resources available to you in the University and engaging in social activities, the programme expects you to discuss and debate the key issues, both in the subject itself and in the world of business itself. There will be many opportunities to examine what is actually happening in the business world around you as you progress through the programme.
During two semesters you will gain a thorough grounding in the key aspects of finance and development. In summary, you will learn about:

* Financial Investment Analysis
* Research Methods
Finally, during semesters two and three, you have the opportunity to complete a Masters dissertation which will involve you in planning and implementing a research study on an approved topic within the area of finance and development. This provides an ideal opportunity to personalise your study programme reflecting your own interests and career aspirations.
Alternative MSc programmes in the finance area with different focus are MSc Finance and Investment, MSc Finance and Management and MSc Financial Analysis. These programmes provide a common core of underlying financial knowledge and skills but also elements that are subject-specific according to the particular programme.
A recognised university undergraduate honours degree, with at least a Lower Second Class classification, or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent. English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6.5 IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa.
