Why study Finance and Investment at Loughborough University?

This is an applied programme which provides students with knowledge and skills to work in investment roles.

Studying Investments raises some interesting issues, such as why people trade so much, whether the best investment strategy is simply to track the stock market index, how risk should be measured and how assets should be priced.

This degree is aimed at candidates who wish to work within investment management, investment banking and related careers. The programme focuses on both the trading and portfolio management sides of finance. It has a substantial focus on investment within core modules, including Portfolio Management, Financial Trading and International Investment Analysis.

Minimum upper second class honours degree (2:1) from a UK university or equivalent overseas qualification recognised by Loughborough University in one of the following: * Business degree * A major in a quantitative subject (such as Maths, Physics, Engineering or Computing) * A minor in Finance * Those with a major in Finance (such as Financial Management) are eligible to apply, although due to the content of this course, if suitably qualified, you are advised to consider applying for our MSc in Banking and Finance.Good grades in quantitative modules are required regardless of degree background.English language requirement for international studentsIELTS: overall 6.5 with minimum 6.0 in each componentThe School will accept lower IELTS scores if you undertake the University's pre-sessional English course. 5-week course: IELTS score of 6.5 with at least 5.5 in each component10-week course: IELTS score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6.5 CAE score: (read more) Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) is part of the Cambridge English suite and is targeted at a high level (IETLS 6.5-8.0). The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa.
