This course is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge required to succeed in todays highly competitive and dynamic world of finance. You will be taught by staff that have years of practical industry experience and/or research expertise across many areas of finance. Real-life case-studies, innovative projects and hands-on workshops will develop your specialist financial knowledge and enable you to bridge the gap between finance theory and reality, which should leave you ready to immediately put what you have learned into practice in your chosen career.

Course Content
The first year will introduce the fundamentals of finance, economics, accounting and mathematical techniques. You will also develop your academic and IT skills and benefit from training in using financial databases and spreadsheets.The second year adds depth to theoretical and practical material covered in Year One with a focus on finance in a business context. You will study all aspects of the financing process including fund raising, investment appraisal, corporate decision-making, risk management and financial regulation using practical examples.
In your final year as well as an individual dissertation, you will study specialist finance modules such as Investment Analysis, Portfolio Theory and International Finance. There is also the opportunity to focus on key areas of finance that interest you, such as banking or econometrics.Your course will be based on a series of weekly lectures, seminars and workshops. You will also be assigned a personal tutor who will meet regularly with you to review and discuss your progress and offer advice.

Funding
Merit Scholarship SchemeMerit Scholarship scheme: £1,000, in year one only and based on academic performance.
- Available to all international students applying for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Coventry University.
- Scholarships are allocated on the basis of academic merit. (Postgraduate applicants must hold 2.1 or equivalent, undergraduate applicants must hold A-levels or equivalent at grades BBC)
- There is no separate scholarship application process: all undergraduate applications from self-funded international students from any non-EU country and postgraduate applications from international, will automatically be considered for a merit award. You will not have to do anything, if you are successful you will be notified in due course by the International Office.
