Master of Science in Finance (MSF) is a one-year, 35-credit hour degree program designed for actively employed working professionals that will prepare you to excel in the complex world of finance. The program meets bi-weekly at our Chicago Michigan Ave. campus.
Through the MSF program, you will master finance terminology, tools, techniques, and analytical frameworks that are required to truly have an impact in your organization. You will learn how to integrate financial analyses into the context of an overall business strategy. Your expanded ability to make decisions ethically, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively through reports and presentations will help you achieve the highest professional standards.An academic background in finance is not required to enroll in the MSF. Additionally, those with undergraduate degrees in finance will also find the program valuable for gaining additional tools and knowledge.

General Application Requirements
This program is specifically designed for working professionals who can attend classes every other weekend while maintaining employment. In addition, applications for the Notre Dame MSF program must contain each of the following elements:
- Resume
- Interview (to be scheduled by the MSF admissions team for qualified applicants)
- Official transcript(s) sent directly from the institution
- Two (2) recommendations
- One (1) essay
- Official TOEFL, PTE, IELTS Academic score report (non-U.S. students only)
- Active employment with a minimum of 2 years work experience
- The admissions team reserves the right to require the GMAT

Need-Based Financial Aid
Prospective first year students wishing to be considered for limited need-based financial assistance must first complete anInternational Student Certification of Finances along with the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE adapted for international students. Both documents are due at the time of application.International students seeking financial aid must apply during the admissions process. All international students that are admitted without financial aid are expected to fully fund their studies. Financial aid is not available in later years. If you think that you will need financial aid at any point during your studies, you should apply for financial aid at the time of your application.
Merit Scholarships
Notre Dame offers merit scholarships to a limited number of international students, accepted for admission as a first-time incoming freshman, who demonstrate exceptional accomplishment, leadership, commitment to service, and intellectual promise.Ranging from $5,000 per year to the full cost of attendance, these scholarships are typically renewable for four years and recipients may be invited to participate in leadership development and enrichment opportunities as an additional benefit of their award.

- Stipend for doctoral students of $24,000 to $30,000, according to program, on a 12-month basis for up to five years;

- Stipend for incoming doctoral students of $24,000 to $28,000, depending on program, on a 12-month basis for up to five years

Non-U.S. Applicants
Important Notice: The Master of Science in Finance program does not offer F-1 or J-1 student visa sponsorship.
The program is held on alternating weekends (Friday-Saturday) in order to fit the schedules of working professionals. The program does not provide internships or employment during the time students are not in class. Therefore, candidates seeking an F-1 or J-1 student visa are not eligible for the program. Greencard holders, and non-U.S. citizens who hold another visa status that accommodates full-time employment, will be considered.
All non-U.S. citizen applicants must submit an official score for one of the following:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL®)
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE®)
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS®)
Any of the three tests are accepted for review. Non-U.S. citizen applicants may choose to take whichever test is more convenient for them. Test scores must be valid at the time of application review.

The application fee is $50.00* USD. You may submit this payment via credit card when submitting your online application. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are accepted.
