Forensic Science

TrentпПХs Forensic Science professional degree program integrates the study of investigative practice and theory with both science and law. It provides students with access to an array of forensic practitioners who enrich their classes with the latest forensic theory and practice.Year one introduces the basic concepts of forensics through a case-based course integrating the use of scientific evidence, critical argument, and reporting media. In year two, students learn forensic techniques and legal procedures. Year three introduces new forensic techniques, a crime scene investigation course, and begins in-depth study of forensic DNA techniques. Year four of the program provides an opportunity to become a researcher and a practitioner through independent study, thesis research, or a community-based research project. Graduates will receive a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science (B.Sc.F.S.).
