Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering

UNB Saint John offers the introductory year(s) of the UNB Engineering programs. As part of the UNB family, you will transfer easily to UNB Fredericton to complete your program for a total of four years of full-time study. You can choose to take part in the Co-op program (organized by academic term) or the Professional Experience Program (organized for the length of an engineering project). Participation may add time to your degree, but will definitely add experience and perspective.Google Earth exists because of geodesy and geomatics engineers, as do all forms of GPS (global positioning satellites). Geodesy is the science of mathematically determining the size and shape of the earth and the nature of the earthпПХs gravitational field. Geomatics is the gathering, analysis, interpretation, distribution and use of geographic information. Together, these engineers are the modern worldпПХs mapmakers, creating precise 2D and 3D views of the physical world and our place in it. The first year of Geomatics Engineering is offered at UNBSJ.
