The relative failure of therapeutic medicine to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality levels in the past few years has led to an increasing focus on preventative measures. This training course is a major part of this preventative strategy. It has been developed to further understanding and increase skills in the significant principles pertaining to health promotion, current topics in health promotion and also the practice of planning, executing and evaluating health promotion programs in a variety of settings.
