Upon completion of the programme, graduates will possess:

  1. People-management competencies: Graduates of the programme will have the necessary HR knowledge, skills and competencies to successfully carry out operational HR functions that translate HR policies and procedures into positive HR outcomes.
  2. Evaluation and advisory competencies: Graduates of the programme will have the ability to evaluate and develop people-management programmes and processes, based on a sound knowledge of the principles of employee motivation and engagement, and an awareness of the importance of the organisational and cultural context and of ethical principles.
  3. Personal and professional development: Graduates of the programme will be effective communicators, analytical and critical thinkers, who will appreciate the importance of life-long learning and continuing professional development

Academic Qualification

  1. A recognised bachelor’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification (with no work experience requirement); or
  2. A recognised diploma plus a minimum of four years of work experience


Language Proficiency Requirement

Applicants should normally possess the following English language proficiency standard if they received their higher education in a language other than English:

  1. TOEFL: not lower than 550 (paper-based), or 79 (internet-based); or
  2. IELTS: overall band score not lower than 6.5; or
  3. CET-6: pass for the old version or not lower than a score of 450; or
  4. other equivalent qualifications.

Two academic awards are set up (a) to motivate MHRM students to strive for academic excellence and (b) to encourage our HKBU alumni to pursue advanced professional education:

(a)    The Graduation Academic Award is designed to reward those who have attained excellent scholastic performance in their MHRM studies. It is worth HK$8,000 and will be given to three students who have obtained the highest GPA provided that their cumulative GPA is no less than 3.40, with no repeated courses and no course grade below B-.

(b)    The HKBU Alumni Entrance Award is worth HK$8,000 and two awards are available. Students need to be HKBU undergraduate alumni and to have attained an upper second class honours degree.
